Why not a Chinese tractor? I live inTomball, Tx near Houston. The tractor will be sent to Africa not USA. Thank

Is it a budget thing ? Imo if I were you I would be looking at a Mahindra high HP , because of lesser headaches in longrun , etc .
Plus you say your in Tomball .

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

Now that we have a wee bit more information on why you're considering a 'Chinese' tractor (not for use in Texas, shipping to somewhere in Africa), we can begin to offer more pointed advice. More information from you will help.

The purpose of the tractor is poignant... are you (or an organisation) donating this tractor? Where in Africa are you sending it? (I'm thinking of parts support) Is it for a communal village to use and will it be easy to maintain.

If you purchase in the USA, depending on the hp, it may be Tier 4 compliant... which probably isn't a requirement in that area of Africa. (A direct shipment from China to the African destination may save money spent)

So many questions...

Enjoy the site.

Thank 4 your inputs. My application requires hp between 80 to 200. I will be using implements asking 60 to 70 hp from PTO. The brand I will be selecting would have to be one that is currently been used in my area. That way I can easily get spare parts.

Good luck with that. I am not tying to be dismissive, but I would not go down this path of you want to benefit the end user long term. What brand are we talking about?

edit

Still not clear on your area... but sounds like drop shipping from China to Africa?

my understanding is and has been that if buying/shipping new to the USA the tractor has to pass tier 4

this thread discussed a similar question buying new chinese tractor through alibaba in 2017

https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...ns/385606-has-anyone-bought-tractor-thru.html

member Troysie has a YTO 704 and likes it.

Not sure Any 60+ hp Chinese tractors can be imported to the USA now due to tier 4

although the Massey 4707-4710 are built in China and tier 4 compliant

Several makers in China of over 70 HP tractors that are non tier 4, but getting fast easy parts look up and delivery to Africa??

I guess if there is a will there is a way...

Does it have to be a 'Chinese' tractor? India is closer to Africa and also makes 80+ hp tractors which, supply/parts wise, may fit the bill.

Once again, some clarification is needed... you report that you are located in Texas but that the tractor is for use 'somewhere' in Africa. Are you planning to move to Africa and operate the tractor yourself? Third party operation? If 'third party', what environment are they going to be operating this tractor in? How 'complicated' or 'simple' (bare bones) do you want/need the tractor to be?

Yes, I will be moving to Africa and operate it myself. It痴 to be used in farm. Drainage work in my banana farm, opening some roads, hydraulic auger hole digger, cut grass, chain trench to run my irrigation pipe system and so forth. I just named a few. I heard transportation is expensive in India.
