I have a 302 loader on my B7500HST and I would like to come up with a 4ft toothbar for it.Has anyone else made one or have some pics of a homemade one? Thanks, Donny

I don't have pics right now but I went to the local CASE dealer bought some weld on shanks ($20ea) and wedge pin type teeth ($12ea), purchased a piece of 5/8 thick flat ($10) steel from the local machine shop. I measured it all out and welded on the shanks evenly spaced and a tab on each end to bolt it in to the bucket. I spent close to $150 on everything. This is the type of shank and tooth I used.

Thought about that too Don but for what Markham charges for a great tooth bar I figured it wasn't worth the trouble.

...purchased a piece of 5/8 thick flat ($10) steel...

That would be a deal and a half compared to what I'm used to paying for steel like that.

They are so simple to fab why would you buy one for an inflated price ? Mine was less than 100 and quite heavy for a six foot bucket. I can't imagine paying the freight charges on it for any distance. The fixtures are locked on the cutting bar and five years I have yet to bend it. A couple small projects like this will pay for a wire feed welder and other necessary tools. Besides there is a sense of accomplishment.
The loader for ny 4110 cost one third the price of a new JD model to build and constructed of heavier materials / larger rams.

It was a piece they had cut for someone else and didn't get picked up. They even cut it longways for that price. After thinking about it all night I went back the next day and bought the other half. They were glad to get rid of it.

I agree. At least call Melissa at Markham Welding and get a price...have the inside bucket measurement when you call.

Joe: Using Wranglers cost figures, you would only have 3 teeth on a 6' bucket for $100. I love making something whenever I can just for the learning experience if nothing more but the tooth bar didn't add up for me. Freight was extremely reasonable; was very suprised.

The cheapest 48" on ebay is $255.00 with shipping. so it looks like I saved around $100.00, not pocket change atleast for me. A 6' is $370.00, so you could build it yourself for a high estimate of $250.00 and have 6 teeth on it. I just can't justify paying that much for something I can build. But to each his own.
