... more and more U.S. producers are labeling their products "made in U.S.A." or "Product of U.S.A.". I hope that means "exclusively".
Ship powertrain, chassis & electrical components, suspension systems, etc to America's Heartland, run them down a 'final assembly line'
and slap on that 'Made in USA' label. (Follow the $$ to see where most stuff is really 'made' ... uh, except food items that are easiest to loophole thru' various FDA or labeling stds.)
Iffy past plot uses can be improved by stripping and top dressing (according to garden size). Bacteria in soil amendments (compost, etc) will usually 'clean up' soil within a season or two. Clover or buckwheat may be the best cover crops to turn under. Allow for drainage of storm runoff if soil remains too wet between downpours. (dog runs seem to be on, or create, low ground)
There are weeds (gaillardia, wild grapes, common lawn weeds, etc) that vastly mislead by their vigor what soil will produce healthy veggies. Most anything can be fixed up if petroleum products weren't part of previous pollution. If you don't mind fertilizing the lawn a bit, bag clippings & add to compost or use to mulch compact plots. (reduce weeds & watering).
Pics of your garden once you put 'er in?

Oh, and good luck if you plant squashes downwind of a 4 ac pumpkin patch.

.... BTDT
