Planting a new lawn... Help

   / Planting a new lawn... Help #21
Local expert said spray with roundup, wait 2 weeks then till. Tried that, and if doing it again, I'd spray, then spray again after the first 2 weeks, then till. I had a lot of weeds come up after the first 2 weeks.

2 weeks would be too long around here. Everything would be dead in a week and new weeds starting to grow in 2. Mow short, spray, till when stuff dead regardless if that is a week or whatever.

You will always have to apply glyphosphate again after you till, after waiting a few weeks, as tilling will uncover zillions of weed seeds. This is a very labor-intensive way to do this.

Summer is the worst time to put in a lawn.

When I did mine, I fertilized first to promote weed growth, then spray glyphosate, wait 1 week, spray again. Now and bag low. Reseed.
