Plowed many acres with the "snap coupler " 3 - 16 AC plow with 45 HP WD 45. The WD had a responsive draft control and the AC plow was designed for a lighter pull. The hardest thing now would be to adjust the rear tire to track in the furrow. The old row crop tractors had a way to adjust the width.

For those that haven't operated the tractors from the fifty's. Allis Chamlers (AC) produced a popular 45 horse power (HP) tractor named "WD 45". It was an upgrade of the "WD" model. The next AC that replaced the WD 45 was the D-17. The "Snap Coupler" was a hook inside a metal bell that you would snap in the drawbar or other implements. All of the row crop AC had power shift rear wheels that all you had to do was to loosen 4 cams and using the tractor power the wheel could be shifted in or out.
