Oil & Fuel Plastic Funnel in Fuel Tank

They're called Mechanical Fingers every place I've seen 'em.
Boy, it took me three days (after reading Bird's post) to remember the name of that tool!!!!

It's called a "Mechanical Retrieving Tool". One supplier is McMaster-Carr. Telephone Sales (630) 833-0300. A 13-1/2" long model (part # 5681A12) is $4.72, and a 23-1/2" long model (part # 5681A14) is $5.50. Handiest tool in the box when you're in a pinch and don't have a super-duper weirdo tool to cut the mustard... or grab your funnel... in this case./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I tried to syphon fuel out of Dad's car one day using one of those fancy brass jiggler syphon things.

Well the fancy brass jiggler end bit fell off in his fuel tank and stayed there until he sold it.

Those mechanical retriever devices are great. I also get quite a lot of use out of a magnetic tipped, telescopic retriever.
