The temp made it up to a whopping 10 degrees, so I went out and played a little. This was easy snow for clearing, a power broom would have worked as well as a blade.

If weather like this keeps up, that 5030 HSTC is closer than I thought.

The snow has all but stopped here. It ALMOST covered the ground at one point. (Some winter storm, huh?) We got about 1/2" of slushy ice and sleet, maybe 1/4" of real snow, and the temps never dropped below 34*. Now mind you, I'm not complaining, just snickering about how the weather guessers are going to be tap dancing around the fact that they all just about predicted Armageddon to happen today. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Schools all went home early. Business's closed and sent everyone home. And let's not even think about the international bread and milk crisis this will cause.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

It missed you guy on the south end. If you can believe the weather heads. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Us guys on the north end are going to get your snow. We will see if they got it right in the morning. As cold as it is and 25 mph winds forecast. It should be a good snowplowing day tomorrow. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Six inches here, still snowing hard. Our problem is this storm started out with sleet and everything under the snow is ice.

fwj....you remind me of some things way back in the day. I lived in Louisville during the big snow fall of 78............what a snow.

I remember not getting out of school for "drizzle" of snow like we have now.

DannyD,
Yeah, when I was in school (Horseheads, NY - 60's), they used to put chains on the buses and send them out. We would have the occasional snow day, but it was for heavy snow falling in the morning. If it snowed in the evening, the plows were out, and we had school the next day. They had an old army 6x6 that they had cast a big chunk of concrete on. If a bus got stuck, they sent out the 6x6 and jerked it out. Now, I'm told that it's become illegal to put chains on school buses in NY, but some of the back country drivers put them on anyway. Why would it be illegal?!?!?!?! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I dont hold the weather people responsible for the stir up.It is the weather we are talking about.Actually(not being a mental heavyweight), it is kind of amazing what they can predict.

I grew up around Bryans Road, left for school and military time, back to Marbury, now near PB and hopefully soon the other side of the bridge from you. Most the snow did for us was leave everything wet and nasty after plowing. You fair about the same?

Pretty much the same as the last snowfall 5" at most, not enough to play with any of the equipment ,but that's OK too /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
