DUH.. I'm an idiot! I just reread my post, and realized I have typo'd the price. 22K was for the 1433PS (power shuttle) with the heavier duty Hardy loader instead of the MF1466. I ended up with the Hydro & Hardy Loader, plus a bunch of goodies (60" Rototiller, 60" RM Snow Blower, 72" Rake, Bale Spear, Forks, 66" Bucket, Loaded R4's, 60" Rotary Cutter etc) for 28500. A little pricey, but the dealer is SO important!!! They offer fantastic service plans, loaners, excavator rentals and a great attitude. Not just my opinion, ask anyone up here.
As far as the 1440, I didn't think I needed the extra HP, and everything else seems the same. I could be wrong - JerryG would be the guy to ask, he likes his 1440 alot and knows ALOT about the Massey tractors. He helped me out greatly in my decision.
I went to all the other dealers and Northwood BY FAR were the only people I felt comfortable with. It makes ALL the difference. If that tractor has any problems, or if you bust it, they will fix it fast!
I looked at alot of tractors, and they are all nice, any of them would do the job at hand, but go with the best service, you won't regret it.
Sorry for the long winded reply, but you asked!!
Oh yeah, unless you plan on ALOT of light to medium BH work, my opinion is that for the money (5 to 7K) you can rent a 10,000lb excavator an awful lot of times and it would do a much better job than a compact tractor with limited power can do. Spend your money on other toys!!!!! The tiller was expensive, but we'll use it alot.
Now, GO GET THAT TRACTOR! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
