I use to rent one alot doing small projects in tight places great little machine built tough. many rental places have them ease of use and durability keep them in demand andits sometimes very hard to rent one last minute usally 2 week lead time . Rental yards sell them pretty cheap after about 1000 hrs . I would never ever even think of buying one of them i have looked at a million over the years and have never seen one even remotly worth what they are asking for it. Try to find a private owner who had one they usually have pride of ownership and take care of it alot better. Good used machines ant allot cheeper than new and you can get some good rates on new stuff. Just remember will only do loading and digging . A Tlb can do so much more.Good luck hunting take your time and enjoy the ride.It will pay off when u find the right machine.:drink:

I owned an older T2 for several years. People make fun of them, but they will do a lot of work. The loader is kind of limited, but the backhoes digs great. They do use a lot of fuel, but everything is simple to work on. A screwdriver and adjustable wrench will fix almost anything on them.

The terramites are the ugliest little machines on the planet, but they are built like tanks and very simple to maintain. For their size and price they are very powerful, I would say the only downside is they are slow and there is no 3 point hitch. But if you spend them up, they would be far less affordable, and if they had a 3 point hitch they wouldnt have that monster hoe on the back. My t9 will out dig my uncles 60 horse john deere with ease. I've used this machine with a ripper to drop 24 inch pines, and 20 inch oaks. if you are looking for a brute get it, if you are mostly gardening or tilling or mowing, go with the JD or Kubota.

If I was you I would check out the Yanmar SA221
or the pretty blue LS tractors. IMHO the SA221
will cover what ever you have to do

Wow. Revived a 7 year old thread. A record?

In any case, I found a Kubota B21 with a 4 in 1 bucket on it that has served me well for a number of years now. Guess I should have said that here when I bought it.

Just fluids, filters and many of the hoses with OEM parts.

I did rebuild the small cylinders on the 4 in 1 as one began leaking. I'll have to do those hoses pretty soon, but those I may get custom made to make it a bit neater looking. Looks like Mr R. Goldberg wanted to clean out his hose and fittings locker.
