Please help me Identify this John Deere Planter

I was given this planter. I know it needs some work, but free is free. I plan on using it for planting soybeans and corn in my food plots. I have to get a new tire and it is missing the hydraulic cylinder. I'm just not sure what model it is, and I can't locate a serial number plate or any markings the let me know what model it is, so I can get a manual for it.

Looks like a JD-494A to me. Used one for years. Looks like the fertilizer bins are missing, they usually rusted out anyway.

Will use the ever common 8 inch stroke cylinder.

The tires need to match each other perfectly. Different sizes will affect the planting rate, but you can ajust for that. But it gets messed up if you don't have the same tire on each side.

I think I always used a 3 x 8 cylinder, but a 2 might work. I need to look, I might have a operators manual for that planter if I can find it.
