Hi i'm a new member from accross the pond i'm in the UK /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm hoping you guys might help me out on a few questions i have before a make a purchase .I intend to buy a small compact tractor in the range of 25-30HP.I intend to use the tractor for loader work ,flail mowing ,bush hogging general paddock work .I have a tree service company and paddock work/maintenance will be a new service we intend to offer.

My first choice tractor would be from one of the well known brands NH,kubota ,John Deere,Kioti ,etc etc .Now during my search for a tractor i have come accross the Chinese tractors and a cheap tractor from south Korea,i was amazed by the price of these chinese machines these tractors over here in the UK are on average half the price of a big name tractor. So i AM very tempted to buy one . All the dealers tell me spares are not a problem ,and on paper they look like a fairly good machine the brands we have over here are SIROMER ,SHIRE,JIMNA..any how i was hoping some of you guys could give me your views on such machines many thanks for any replies.

I am a Jinma owner. I am very satisfied with my tractor. Chinese tractors are not for everyone. They are, however, a solid machine good for many years of reliable service for those who are self reliant and able to take care of them.

Welcome to the forum: never heard of 2 of those tractors, but have heard of JINMA although not sure it is the same tractor that you are refering to. I personally think you might want to bite the bullet and get one of the better know name brands, even then, some models might not be quite the same as what we get on this side of the pond.

A simple google search on "SIROMER tractor" leads me to believe it is just a re-badged Jinma.

edit.......same goes for "SHIRE tractor"

Chinese tractors might require the buyer to do a little bit more wrenching on their own than one of the more well known brands. I don't own a Jinma, so it's unfair of me to talk about their quality. I do know that if my budget would have been smaller, I'd have bought one. I owned a Yanmar before the one I have now. I just needed one more physically compact than a Jinma and my budget allowed the purchase of one of the more well known brands.

Thank you for your replies guys ,i have decided to go with a well known brand probably Kubota ,though i haven't ruled out John Deere or New Holland.Maybe if i was a bit more mechanicly minded i might have gone with a Chinese brand.
