2002 F250 W/7.3 PS and 6 speed. It's a super cab 4X4 3.73 gears, W/8 ft bed and camper shell. I've averaged 18.68 MPG for 37,000 miles with about 2/3 hiway and 1/3 city driving.

One of these days I'm going to have to take a 600+ mile trip so I can see what it gets with straight hiway driving.

Usually around 10k miles you will start to see an increase in mileage. At least that's where most of ours started to increase.

We have a 2000 Serria K3500 with the 6.5L TD 4X4 long box, crew cab & dually (with a cap).. She has the auto tranny ..With 3000 lbs in the bed we get a very consistant 17 MPG ( 7K /l )....

She's a good little truck... The good news is even maxxed out with 5K in the bed she'll accelerate uphill if we want it too... The bad news is she ain't fun trying to park at the supermarket...

2K F250 SD/7.3/auto/4WD/chipped/4" exhaust/synthetic oil in engine, trans & diffs. On the hiway at 75-80 was geting 16-18 empty, found out I had a faulty Exhaut Pressure Sensor (this opens the waste gate) had it replaced and have not figured milage yet since the repair (2 weeks ago).

'01 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab 4x4. It has auto with 4.11 gears.

I get about 17 on the open road, 13-15 city/mountian.

It is a reall puller, but that Cummins does not need the 4.11's. In retrospect, I would have got 3.55's, and probably the 6spd manual. I have a buddy with same truck as mine, but 6spd/3.55's and he gets 21mpg highway before his exhuast/intake/chip mods.

Some of the decision depends on your local prices. Local diesl here is up to $2.49/gal!!!!! California gouges for the "smog reducing" formulated and mixed gas to begin with. Add on to that the recent price hike and jiminy crickets!

'99 F350 regular cab 7.3/6spd. Town driving and 40 miles round trip to work daily gets me about 19.5mpg if I keep the rpms down. A couple of full throttle joyrides to 90mph changes that number a little. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I havn't taken a long trip in it so I'm not much help there. Be careful, after one gets used to torque, it's hard to let go...

Edit: I don't mind driving mine at all. The previous owner installed air ride seats which are a little high but soften the ride greatly. My truck is actually a little shorter bodywise than my friend's supercab F150.

01 Dodge HO Cummins w/6spd trannie.. 411 posi axles. Pretty consistant at 21 local. Highway, once I saw 26, but usually not much difference than local. We have some short but really wicked hills here, 8% grades no problem and because of this, I wouldn't go below a 411 rear. I do pull AndyMa' cab TN 75 w/hoe and it has to be over 9,000 lbs plus trailer and this old Dodge pulls these hills real well. It surprises a lot of people.. About 14 -16 with trailer and heavy tractor. Again, all local roads and no real open roads or highways..

'02 F350 crew cab, long bed dually. 4" exhaust, 4 way flip chip, free flow air intake.

With wife driving empty, chip on second position, she gets 18 mpg. She does use this truck for a commuter car....believe me, if its not on the road every day, someone must be sick! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

With me driving, chip on fourth position, I get about 15 mpg. I just can't let any of the kids in the pimped out Hondas get by without a good smoking. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

'98 Dodge 2500 2WD, 24 valve Cummins, 5 spd, 3.55 gears. 15 running around the 'hood, not even warmed up most of the time. I got 21 mpg on my last road trip to Louisiana. Speeds up to 90 on the way there, city driving around Lafayette and Opelousas, 75 to 80 on the way back. I've got around 73,000 miles on it now, the mileage is getting better all the time.
