Ploughing with GT, tyre advice

looked at tyres today at work, i know, i should have been working....
how do you think R4 type tyres will fare in the mud and dirt, i wasnt happy with the depth of the lugs on the R1, will they plug up and spin? How affective are the lugs on the GT R1 tyres?

Yes
Even if the lug on the R1 is shorter, it will work better, because the R4 is designed to float.

It's been said R4 type tyres turn into racing slicks in mud.
I've also heard that The AGs lugs are self cleaning.

I just bought the 1967 yesterday from the guy who bought it new in 1967.

If you can squeeze(?) them in between the fenders, a combination of tire chains and more weight has always worked for me. Are you plowing snow or dirt? If you are talking about a mouldboard tilling type plow, then it will be more agressive tire/chains that will make the biggest difference. If snow-plowing then go for weight as well.

yea im ploughing dirt, mouldboard type. The problem, why i dont particulary like tyre chains, we have a posh brick driveway and I dont wnat to break it all up, i thought rubber would be softer on it even in AG form.
we dont really have snow so thats not an issue!

just to let you know, these have been ordered up for me, i think the close treads in the middle will save the turf a bit and the wide treads on the outside will grip in the dirt. I plan to drill the rims to add wheel weights. They will be wider than the ones in the pic but the same tread
