I am by no means an expert.

If it can shift that much, I would imagine you need to tighten up your stabilizers some. They should not be tight, but that looks like too loose.

Hopefully someone with more experience will comment soon.

Did you try moving the tractor in reverse to straighten the plow up some? I agree on the stabilizer chains. The one in the picture to the right needs shortened up after you get things back to normal.

Well I plowed half of my food plot before it got stuck sideways again!!!. Thanks a lot for the info at lest I know what to do to stop this from hopping again the short side of the chain has 5 links I'l cut the 6th link off of the other side then I should be good.

In a July thread you requested plow adjustment advice, with the same problems.

The correct suggestions regarding plow adjustment are in the LINK.

I taught myself to plow by careful reading of FARMWITHJUNK'S posts, which are the best plow info in the T-B-N archive, in my opinion the most instructive plow information anywhere on the web.

Plows properly adjusted follow the center line of the tractor. Stabilizers should be loose when plowing.

Most consider the Moldboard Plow the most difficult, time consuming implement to learn. There is no way to learn plow adjustment quickly in uneven ground. Learning plow adjustment in a long, flat field is sufficiently tedious.

Your plow appears in good condition. Good luck.

If you reverse with a plow in the earth there is a high probability one side of the chain stabilizers will bend at one or the other attachment point. ( Ask me how I know this. )

Don't do it. Raise the plow.

Went in reverse nothing bent!. If it's so simple to go in a straight line when plowing then why is this the only implement that I don't really like to attach to my tractor?because it always go sideways so something has to be tight . Now one of the stableizer. Chain has 6 links the other side 5 so maybe that's the problem.

May be way wrong for it has many a year since I set up moldboard plows but I think this may be due to the plows not be level either front to rear or side to side.

Looking at that picture, the ground look hard or at least it's breaking up in chunks. If you run your harrow over it first, you will see a differene in how the plow behaves.

I'm no expert but it seems to me if you rotated the bottom arm (where your lower links attach to) in such a way that it would point the plow a little more to the right when you are sitting on the tractor that would help in solving your problem.

It makes sense to me that both the stabilizer chains should have slack in then while plowing. Also are you discs free to swivel a little on their mountings. If a disc is seized at an angle to the direction of travel it would also tend to pull the plow over.

Also some plows have adjustment on the landside to let it push a little more against the side of the furrow which also might help in your situation, but I would adjust the bottom arm first. Adjust in small increments as a little will go a long ways in that area.

Your top link pin is too long. Get one that will have no excess length when u put the cinch pin in. Also lessen the plows cross shaft bolts (2 on each side) and rotate the shaft in a clockwise position. The angle of the shaft will change when you rotate the shaft. Turning the shaft clockwise will move front of the plow toward the right rear tire. Turning counter clockwise will move the plow to the left. Make sure you have the top lenght
Parallel to the ground when pulling. Plow should pull in a straight line behind the tractor if adj properly

Agree with adjusting the plow cross shaft. But what does toplink pin have to do with anything. It dont matter if the toplink pin is 4" long or 14". Not gonna change a thing about how it plows.

I'm not positive but I thought the plow could move without the pin in the top link fixed.

I cut the pins off because the were to small so I welded the size I needed. That might have something to do with it!!! When I cut them off I left a little bit so A could put the pins in the center.
