Plow Question

   / Plow Question #11
Greg,
Most places that I have checked, charge more for R4s than they do for R1s. As far as the wheel weighs in the loader, I sure would leave them on the rear wheels. You always need to have the most increase in traction on the rear.
The actual cut of the plow is determined by the cut width of the bottoms. A 2-14 plow would cut 28", a 3-14 would cut 42". I have never actually measured the land cut vs the plow width, but that is how it should work.

Only 3 pt ground engaging equipment that I've had a chance to use out to the property so far has been a tree setter. Earlier this spring my father, brother, cousin and I set 3000 1-3 yr. old white pine seedlings with the 3pt setter and another 500 by hand up in the timber where the conopy wasn't so thick. Besides being wet and soppy we had minimal problems with pulling the setter. R1's probably would've helped in a few areas. Thanks again all!

Greg
