I can bury my 9 foot offset on the second pass here where I live now. No plow needed here. I never want to have a 3PH disc. Everybody that knows offset discs and sees mine wants to buy it. Oh, it's not for sale I tell them. Only bad thing about the offset is my trailer should be 3-4 foot longer to haul the disc AND the Mahindra. My 24+5 dovetail dual tandem is a tad short.

One more thing. We pretty much quit using the moldboard plow when we got an offset disc, which you have.

The tractor would pull a much wider offset disc, and the offset disc did fine job of turning the soil over (not as deep as a moldboard, but sufficient) so we didn't use the moldboard plow much. The people on here who have only used a tandem disc and never used an offset have no idea how much better an offset plows than a tandem.

I used to plow a square quarter section (160 acres) of land with that old 3-bottom moldboard. A few trips around that field took a LONG time, and it was really depressing to see how little I had done in that time.

Brandi, have you weighed your tractor? I ask because I come up with 10,800lbs. 7300 lbs for the tractor, 2000lbs for the loader, and 1500lbs for the loaded tires.

Do you have some cast iron also?

Just wondering. :confused3:

Brain,
With the backhoe and subframe it weights 11,300 pounds. The BH weighs 1600 pounds. I am not removing the subframe, so I give it 300 pounds, but probably weighs more than this. The subframe also beefs up the lower loader braces that tie into that U channel you and I turned upside down for clearance. So there is more weight there now also. Now add that 1500 pounds of liquid in the tires.

for reference:
2-85 White with 18.4-38 tires full of fluid, dual on the high side would only pull 4-16's in central Minnesota soil. Traction wasn't the issue HP was. Tractor scaled in around 15,000 lbs. Lighter soil it would have pulled 5-16's.

Out by Boise, ID 720 JD diesel would barely pull 2-14's since it was all flood irrigated land the soil became like rock. Took 140+ HP to handle 4-16's in that area.

Here in north central, IL 135 HP will handle 5-16's if you can keep the nose from star gazing.

these are 2 WD tractors.
