I used to like plowing in the dark, but as i get older i don't even like plowing in daylight;) ilive up around Eden ny, and we have been on the fringe of your snowfall, get about 3 or 4 " every night, so i plow it off every morning, don't like to keep driving over it as it just turns to ice. only plow at night when i need to make sure the old girl can get in from her PT job:D

I really enjoy the snow pics. Vince, I am trying to figure out your plowing setup. Do you have a blade on the front of your bucket? The second picture makes it look that way.

I have the skid steer style quick attach. I take the bucket off and hook my front blade on the quick attach..

I'm running a 7' blade on the front and a 7' blade on the rear.
I use the rear blade to pull the snow in away from the road so I don't have to drive out on it (fairly busy road). Then I use the front blade for the plowing.

Vince,
Does this setup when angled push the front end sideways very much or does the tractor weigh enough to stop that?

That's a nice setup Vince. Is your FEL blade homemade or a commercial unit? If comm. who makes? Been exploring the front blade option myself.

Well Vince, you should have received your wish. The lake effect dumped 9-10 inches on us here in about 8 hours. The CK30hst was working pretty hard. Almost needed the chains but it did good without them.
Pushing forwards is much nicer than always using the back blade. The loader bucket works OK but fills up quickly. I have picked up a 6 1/2 foot Myers snow plow blade from a Jeep that I need to make mounts for to attach to the fel arms. Has anyone run hydraulic lines up front for remotes? I want to make the plow with power angle and wanted to power off the rear remotes. I figured an extra set of QDs to plug into the rear remotes whenever I needed to use the front outlet. Thought about all rubber line but would rather run steel. Would the steel line be special or could I use vehicle brake line? I wasn't sure how much pressure brake line can take. The plow rams don't need much flow so I figured 5/16" to 3/8" would work.

Light fluffy snow is no problem at all.
Wet heavy snow will try to shove the front end around on occasion.
I still much prefer plowing with a front blade vs a rear blade. I can move more snow faster and easier with a front blade.
