Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Plowing Snow with a FEL?

My "new to me" front blade is yet to see snow plow action. Do you use a metal cutting edge? Is your drive gravel? My work will be on asphalt, and am looking for input on an effective cutting edge material.

My old driveway was asphalt and I used the steel cutting edge that was on the blade.

My new driveway is NEW concrete and I am thinking about replacing the edge with a HDPE (High Density Polyethelene) plastic edge or something similar to avoid cosmeticly scraping it up too much.

How did your asphalt driveway hold up? And, how did the steel cutting edge hold up? Our neighborhood drive is asphalt.

I never noticed any marks, but it was an older driveway.

The blade edge showed only slight wear and rust where the paint wore off. Its not like I was out plowing for a living 40 hours a week, so I wouldn't expect any durability issues with a steel edge.
