For home use, a lot of people around here use an old rusted out truck that won't pass a safety inspection. (It still should be insured though, as you will be going out into the road.,)

Our old neighbor's "yard truck" must have burned a quart of oil per storm. The air would be blue by the time he finished. IIRC it was an older Jeep pickup.

I'll bet that you didn't worry about blackflies when he got done though!

My Kubota burns more than a quart every time that I plow or do anything else.
