Plug Aerator for Lawn/Garden tractor

I stopped in my local sears yesterday and they are selling a plug type aerator for they lawn tractors at about 75% off. List price is $219.00 and the clearance price is $54.97. I have no idea how it'll work but I ordered it anyway.

I think the Sears plug aerators are made by Brinley. If so, they work fairly well. I have had a Brinley for a few years now and it works fine - you just have to watch for a time when the ground is somewhat soft so that the tubes can penetrate the ground. I put a hydraulic cylinder on mine to raise and lower the transit wheels - this makes it much more convenient to use. The tubes break fairly easily so you might want to order a few spares. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
