Pocket knives.

Benchmade Griptilian or Mini Griptilian. Very reliable, functional and high quality but not that expensive. Easy one-handed operation with the Axis lock and thumb control. I've been carrying one for almost 20 years.

I pulled out a handful of pocket knives just for fun.

The two red balisongs on the left I purchased as camping knives for my wife and me. Her's is still in mint condition. Mine's been used heavily.

The little black balisong I got from my dad. He got it in the Philippines during WWII.

The pakka wood knife to the right of that I carried for many years when I wasn't at work.

The dark red handled single blade Victorinox Floral knife above the balisongs was bright red when I got it. That's the one I carried for over 30 years and retired. It's my favorite knife. As mentioned earlier, it's so handy, I bought one for each of my kids, myself, and a spare. $15.00.

The rest are just knives I found in my father and both my grandfather's belongings after they passed.

The top center 4-bladed one is a scouting knife. The emblem is on the reverse side.

The little pearl colored one is from Mt. Vernon.

I've got a Nixon/Agnew knife around somewhere

Just in case anyone is interested - possibly the Rolex of pocketknives:

Rockstead knife

If you want to see some incredible knife making that is akin to a Rolex, google Joe Kious and the pocket locket knife style he pioneered.

Here's one example. Pocket Locket

I shared a campfire with him a year before he passed. He said he once was commissioned to make a knife that sold for $40K

Coast FX200 in my pocket - kinda flat so you don't even notice it's there. Buck (110 ???) on my belt. Both keep an excellent edge.

I also have one of these; it's a reproduction, but I've had it for more than 40 years.

Wow - that makes the one I posted more akin to a Seiko in comparison.
