hey that's a great idea ,Always take care of the elderly, after all, we will all be there someday! After i did my driveway getting used to the blade and developing a technique the 16 year old son wanted his turn to joy ride so I said let's take-off this blade, just wanting to see how easily it would come off, lower blade to ground pull release lever and plop! it was off now that was sweet! 5 different plow angles and ease of use make it worth the $430 in my humble opinion,... Installation time was about an hour , including blade assembly , but this 4 wheeler already has a winch, Happy Plowing, stay warm! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

and ride to the open fields , now there's a retirement apartment house
there!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Now if we want to leave the ponderosa we have to loadem up
and movem out, Actually I have heard of only 2 official places local,(budds creek & bowie)
but there are always the power lines /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.giflots of space to roam there.

A fella at the gun show was telling me about the Hatfield trails in WV. http://www.trailsheaven.com/trail.cfm

Haven't checked it out yet but we may this coming spring.

We did the Bluff Mountain thing in Pigeon Forge. The people who own the business are nasty. The fellas who do the rides are really great.

It was OK. Just not great.

I have the Polaris plow. I have a Ranger SE XP. The plow, as compared with other plows that I have used on my utility vehicles is a solid plow. It is very easy to mount and dismount and I have had good luck with it. None of the UTV plows are very heavy duty so one must use care when plowing with them. Snow generally is not heavy so these plows work pretty well in those cases. My only recent problem is that the plows are non-integratable with some of the accessory bumpers. I am running a pre-runner bumper on mine and have had to adjust my mounting bracket to accommodate it.

I also have a Sportsman but because I am to poor to afford a plow I built my own. It takes about 10 minutes to get the frame on. However I leave the frame on all winter and loose 2" of ground clearance. I can take the blade off in a couple seconds though. The Glacier plows looked sweet and if I had the money would have bought one.

I have a 2004.5 Sportsman 500 H.O. with the Glacier 60" Razor blade. I love it. Been pretty much problem free. Very easy on/off, works very well.
Only issues: hard on winch cables (I switched to synthetic winch rope after reading on an atv forum that it was better for this application.....still broke it after a couple days use.) Your best way is to put an old cable or rope on for the winter and use one of those u-clamps to reconnect every time it breaks (usually once per season.) I've also finally wore everything out just enough that the plow can now jump up out of the mounts and detach. My fix for this was to put a piece of styrofoam insulation on the subframe before I drive into it to hook up. It just takes up the slack (now that I have everything bent and wore.
This is no fault of the system.....I plow a 1/4 mile almost daily all winter with a turn around big enough for my transport. And I'm not easy on it. I tend to ram the banks harder than I should. So for normal homeowner use should serve well.
