Polaris Ranger 570 Service

Hi Everyone,

Did my first oil change yesterday and I thought it was difficult. I am not a mechanic but have done many oil changes in the past. Maybe it's just the small size of the vehicle, but seems like it was hard to reach the filter and drain plug.

I also looked at the transmission and front gearbox. Looks like Allen wrenches are needed to remove the drain plugs and fill plugs but I don't have that size---- does anybody know the size so I can get one?

It is a pretty cool machine. I had it stored quite a while but I will use it on the property now. Thanks.

I have a Ranger ETX which is mostly the same as a 570, except with a smaller engine. You are correct that all the plugs for oil, transmission fluid, and gearcase oil all require an Allen wrench. I'm not sure the exact size but it is metric - given I didn't have these in my toolkit, I picked up both metric and English in eight piece sets (or maybe it was 10) that fit a 3/8" ratchet from WalMart. This will let you use an extension which will help with access. Fairly cheap - if I recall correctly less than $10 for each set. Thank you Dale. I have plenty Allen wrenches but none are large enough for the fill plug on the front gearbox. I will get a set.

8mm Allen sockets are what you need. If you have a winch, you will need to unbolt it and slide it out of the way to fill the front diff.

You will need to pull your passengers side running board to grease the prop shaft.
