Actually harbor freight winches were tested against warn and a few other big names by FOUR WHEELER magazine and the Harbor freight winches won ! What they found was the user's were running the winches at full load and kept there finger on the trigger until they all burned out at some point ,When used correctly in 20-30 second bursts with a few minute cool down in between full load pulls most all of them were the same ! You can't run any winch at full load for long .

We get those same basic winches here at Princess Auto. They are complete and utter shat. A winch is something you need to work when you need it. Those cheap winches cant be relied on. Seen it first hand.

I agree! Unless my Warn lets me down, I will stick with Warn. Runva would be my other choice.

I would not give up hope yet. Yes you may some problems to deal with BUT I seen ATV's come back from worse. Just make sure your belt housing/clutch assembly is free and clear of any debris. That is not a cheap part, also rather important....

I have two neighbors with a dozer and BobCat, but they can not get in with current conditions.
Yesterday I spoke to a local company that specializes in removing items from swamp and mudd.
They are bring three if their equipment out Friday and decide what to use after they look at the situation.
Two great guys who farm part of my land are returning to help with two Honda 4x4 ATV.
My brother in law us coming with Rolleze Wheel cart plus boat straps with Rachet, boat rope and boat pulleys.
They plan to set up between the trees and lift the rear to clear the mud and front to clear the stumps. Then pull or lift it out forward hopefully.
The company has an excavator which they are bringing in case they can get it in.

The guys who got it stuck and then messed it and other things up were brothers who I trusted as one worked for me off and on at the farm the past two years. The other is his older brother who headed the hunters I let hunt. I found they drink much heavier than I thought. I was out of area when they tried to recover each week.

I finally told them to stop and do nothing until I am there. I have not seen or heard from them since.

Good luck!! Hope you get it out fairly easy. A good wash, fluid change, drain the CVT belt cover, should be all good. A few days to dry out is all it should need.

If you actually can lift the wheels above ground level, slip some plywood under it. Even if the plywood sinks a bit and cracks some, it will give you more solid footing than much and tree debris. But getting the wheels off of the ground will be some lifting, but not impossible.

I agree. 4 sheets of plywood could make your life much easier if you are able to lift enough to get them underneath it.
