Pole Barn design ideas for hurricane alley

I'm certainly not an expert here, but I live at the beach in Florida. When they built my house, they tied the trusses to the concrete slab using re-bar, by looping the re-bar over the truss and then bolting it to the concrete floor.

Could you adopt a similar principal for the Pole Barn? It seems like a heck of a good idea.....

Wind is a funny thing on buildings...
ok let's say you have an open pole barn....it is a big wing lots of up lift.
ok you put on siding in wind that siding will load the pole sides (you have to think about can they take that? will it push them over. (Need lots of bracing. if it blows them down the building is gone)
ok here is the kicker....let's say you loose the garage door or one wall and all that wind comes in with no were to go? The build could pop like a ballon.

Bracing & connectors is the key to a well built wind resestant building.The bracing it the most often overlooked and left off part of a building and/or roof system. The more bracing in the roof system them better you are. but anything man can build nature can remove so all you can do is do the best you can insure it and hope for the best

Thanks for all the imput. You all have given me some things to think about and get worked out before I pull the pin on this thing this spring. I think I'm going for the 2x6 girts with 1/2" osb and 8" hardiplank nailed thru the overlap for the siding.
