If you put a 20x14, then you will like it when you decide it is time to get that big motorhome & need a place to store/work on it.

12' high by 16' wide minimum. It will allow you to put just about anything inside there you can imagine. With mine I went 10' and have regretted it. I can't park a small harvester in there or even pull a hay wagon inside as my kicker wagons are just over 10' tall. The width makes it nice for backing equipment, trailers or whatever else in without worry of hitting the door frame. I would also put doors on both ends so you can pull straight through if needed.

I would buy one twice as big as you think you need.

I have two garage doors. One on the garage that is 9 by 36 and one standard on the shop is 12 by 12. Increasing the size of door over 12-14 wide increases the cost disproportionally due to reinforcement for wind load and heavy duty opener. To get the most out of the height of the building get "low" profile door. It is much closer than standard door to the ceiling when opened.

I went with a so called 9 foot high door, 10 foot wide. but it is more like 8 foot 9 inches. The sidewalls are 10 foot on my building. Clears my Kioti with canopy with several inches to spare.

As big as you can structurally fit. Seriously.

I put 3 roll up doors on my 40'x60' (on the 40' side). First one is 10' wide by 12' high, other two are 12' wide by 12'6" high. The smaller one was planned for garage door opener for pulling in for oil changes and maintenance on family vehicles. Second and third doors were for tractors, travel trailers, etc. Also wanted to make sure a motorhome would fit if we ever decided to get one (no plans to).
