Pole barn pad ...long read

Well, after a month of waiting, it has finally been dry enough for the excavator to start work. He started about 8 am Saturday morning removing stumps. By 9:30 when we had to leave for a wedding, all 5 stumps were out and one dump truck load had already left. We didn't return home until Sunday. The pictures with the track hoe are when we were getting ready to leave... The pictures with the parked bulldozer are when we returned on Sunday.

I really have no idea what is going on, but there is a giant pile of topsoil in my yard, now! It seems like where the dozer is sitting is where the pad will be cut in.

I'm going to guess that the pile of dirt in your yard is full of root and such.

Well, the excavator is all done, except for coming back when the building is done and grading everything around the pad. I had never envisioned it being this big of a project ....
