Tried to edit my post on the phone, didn't work. Meant to say drill 2-3 holes on each face of a post so you can saturate the cells all around. Key is the first season when post is driest and most able to absorb liquids. Thin if necessary. You want to get some preservative generally into the post at and just below grade (or slab).
