Not to beat a dead horse, but that building was built poorly and cheaply. And apparently abandoned before it was finished. Id salvage the metal and start over.

Thanks for the input. I certainly agree that there are some problems with the construction. I believe it was originally intended for livestock not necessarily a workshop. However with a little added bracing, finish a few walls, and some concrete it should due nicely. Building stuff from scratch is always easier but i doubt it would be cheaper or even close to cheaper. Installing piers is certainly doable but honestly a pain in the ***, jacking up the whole building is doable but again a serious pain. Since all of the columns i want to fix are located on the outside of the building or on the outside of the planned slab i had though about building a triangular brace and attaching one to each post, maybe 2 in the corners. Then cutting of the post and letting the brace take the weight until i could get a slab underneath it. A grade beam would be a heck of a lot easier to install than piers. Might get some differential settling but its a pole barn, they handle settling very well. Any column that is not going to be on the concrete pad i will have to dig and put in a pier.

Let us know what you think of your technique when you're done, please. And pics. Good luck.
