The cows I got would snap those 4x4s right in half. Of course, mine can be half wild when I bring them in. Still I would go with at least 4x6s or even 6x6s. I would also try to use rough cut dimensional lumber.

Yours does look real nice, though. What breed are you feeding?

You mean you wouldn't let your 7 month old daughter "hang out" with the cows in the pasture? We like to put a range cube in my daughters hand and see if the cows can get to it before she puts it in her own mouth .
I just have a few mixed breed cows. Nothing fancy. They are bred right now by a Brangus bull.
