Pole puller

Very good ideas but at 73 I think I like the bolt the best. I can drill a hole but do ladders....not so much :)

Two years ago, at age 74, I was 12 foot up on my extension ladder putting one screw into a loose piece of tin on roof of my pole barn. The ladder slipped, and I fell. Luckily, nothing was broken, but I got a bad ankle sprain and knee injury which put me on crutches for 3 months. Moral of this story: Senior citizens have no business on ladders.

Theoretically, if you put one extension ladder on each side, and had two guys of basically equal weight going up them at the same time, you could simply change the pulley from the ladders.

I would make sure the feet are of the ladders are flipped up, and pressed into the soil. And, tie the ladders off on both sides of the pole at the top.

You could even fab up something attach to the top of one, or both of the ladders to hold them in place at the top.

Theoretically, people die doing stoopid stuff every day.
