Do you plan to backfill against the outside of those 2x that are currently retaining the soil on the floor? Or are they strong enough to hold that long term.

There's only about 8" to 10" of fill on the inside so theyre not retaining as much as it seems. the ground inside doesnt come up as high as the 2x makes it look. Originally Id planned to bring it up all the way, but for several reasons did not.

In addition, aside from the portch area (10') the 2x's only span 6' between each 6x6 post. there are Vertical 2x8's on the inside to tie the 2x together (at the 3' point between each 6x6), plus Dead-Men to prevent bowing over the longer term.

Think that will hold ?
