I don’t necessarily think we need a political forum on TBN. Dedicated political forums tend to get contentious quickly and turn into endless-loop, personal insult-a-thons. We do not need that here, I agree.

I do think that things happen from time to time that affects all of us and bears civil spirited discussion. It makes a lot more sense than some of the flame wars going on over in the oil & fuel forums. An example of this is the Eminent Domain issue. Doesn’t matter what political affiliation you are when a developer convinces the local politicians to take your property from you and give it to him, does it? It’s the same when a tornado or hurricane blows your home away.

But I do believe that this community of tractor folks is a cut above the average and capable of carrying on civil discussions concerning the governance of our communities.

No. )</font>

Man of few word(s)!

And one I truely agree with.

If politics was "allowed" on a regular basis, soon this entire site would evolve into a full-time political site/dawg fight. I've seen it all too many times on OTHER sites.

(In the past few days, it is creeping ever-so-close to becoming a political site anyway. The hurricane has destroyed far more than meets the eye)

Unless I read the original post incorrectly, the message was that politics has no place on this forum. STOP cluttering the posts with political thoughts.

TBN has been there, done that, but it was before the T-shirts /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The "Related topics" forum was "Off-Topic" at one time. There, people posted just about everything from jokes to politics. Or even political jokes /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Posts went down-hill quick and the management of TBN decided it was no longer proper to post those topics. A decision I agreed with then and still do. This site has a major following, members and non-members alike. It's also rated as a family friendly site and they want to keep it that way.

From one that stepped into the pile and got skunked, lets not go there again.

Bird did right closing a thread after my rant about a certain person. I did wrong!

We all have differing political views, and differing tractor views, color vs color etc. Tractors are fun, politics are not.

I like fun, keep it like it is.

Come on Hakim, tell us what you really think.

By the way, I agree. I'm not really a polital animal, I'm more interested in truth and honesty in politics (don't see much) and the general ineptitude of our politicians, but I have been known to rant on occasions. I don't want to do that here, although I must shamefully admit, it has happened on ocasion and I do apologise.

A political forum is the last thing we need here. Everything that occurs on a political forum is the very things that we have been trying to get rid of on here already. NO political forum NO.
