pond dock posts/piers question

I would build one that floats.

I wanted something a little more stable, and closer to the water. I dont want to feel like I am boating everytime someone walks on or off the dock.

Really nice !! I have to build one myself ( it is on my list somewhere) but me, it sgonna be something with a gate / fence of somekind so I can 'lock it'. With the little one around, I'll be playing on the safe side.

And it jut felt in the next year or later column of my to do list... So plenty of time to learn from others.
