Pool chemical help needed

We got our Salt Water system at Academy Sports for $129. We just fired ours up Saturday. Not getting any chlorine reading yet on the test strips. Everything else looks fine. We have put it on BOOST to see of that will bring the chlorine level up. Salt level appears to be fine, no high or low salt indicators on the unit. We had pretty bad thunderstorms here in Kansas last night, cover blew off, those things are junk. So the rain water will probably screw up all the readings.

They are great at maintaining the levels but can take awhile to gain more, especially for a larger pool. I'd throw in some bleach to get the levels up and see if it will maintain the level. You could have a bit of algae eating what it puts out also. You can grab a bit of the water coming out of the return and measure that to see if it's showing some CL level. When mine is making chlorine, you can see tiny bubbles coming from the return.

Also make sure your CYA (chlorine stabilizer) level is correct.

You gotta be careful with the Intex systems... there's several different models. Its hard to find which model does what and is rated for how many gallons, 120 v 240, etc....

Took a water sample to the pool place yesterday, they got us the stuff we needed to get on track. Seems the salt water system just needs a little help to get where it needs to be to maintain chlorine levels.

If you are replying to my price change comment, I've had my work pc on the same Amazon unit all week. It started at 99 and went up to 111 then back down to 99. All with just a refresh of the browser. Could be a seller thing to, it is Amazon. :D
