My compact 4wd tractor loader has weak lifting power. I've owned other tractors, and they lifted much more. The bucket can tilt and lift double what the arms will lift. I've opened the knob that slows the flow to the loader. Any ideas? I have several items needing moving that it won't lift.

Which John Deere model is this and which "knob" did you open?

Yeah, model number would help us but the JD compacts are not known for having good loader lift capacity. Almost all other compacts will have hundreds more pounds of lift.

Have not noticed lack of lifting power with my JD 4300. Have significant ballast and rear wheel fluid, and still can lift enough with the loader to bring the rear wheels off the ground.
Had a couple occasions to operate similar size hp New Holland and Kubota loader tractors without near the lift power in the loader as my 4300. Don't remember the model numbers, and it isn't important. But left me quite pleased with my JD 4300. No good comes from bad mouthing other brands.

Not bad mouthing, that's why I asked a model number. The 1 and 2 series sub compact and compact tractors are known for poor lift capacity compared to simular sized machines from other brands.

I've got a 1025R and am easily able to lift the back wheels off the ground with the loader if I don't have enough weight on my 3 point.

The tractor he lists is the Iseki TL2300, no mention of JD.
OP - get the hydraulics tested, you might be able to add a shim or so for more power.

I looked at the specs of your tractor and the loader is rated at 700 pounds at the pins. Of course you don’t lift things at the pins so a load in the bucket is less. Forks will make it even less. I own a newer JD 2025r and put a pressure gauge on it, it was on the low end of spec so I turned it up. I’m not sure if you can do that with yours or not.
