Having soaked the air cleaner off my 3000 for a couple of days in diesel fuel and not getting the results I wanted I tried a different approach.
Had an old saber saw that I wasn't using any longer, wire tied it to a piece of scrap particle board, sat it on hard foam packing I found laying around, put about a gallon of kerosene in a bucket, picture shows the results.
Had to tie the bucket to an old bar stool I had sitting around so it wouldn't vibrate off the board. After 15 minutes it removed much of the gunk built up in the bottom of the filter that the soaking didn't touch. It's still running and about to drive me crazy but it's working
