( Bob there's something about the hole being at the very bottom of the tank that doesn't sit well with me. If it were half way up I might attempt a repair but not on the bottom. I filled that tank not more than 20 minutes before the mishap and believe me that diesel came out of that tank real quick. 50 bucks worth of fuel, dang!

Tell you what, I'll throw the old tank in the attic of the pole barn and the next time you come this way for a visit you'll have a a spare tank for your 40DA. )

Yes, I will pick it up next trip /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Was really proud of myself as everything was going so smooth on that drive extension.

Therein lies the problem, just when you think nothing can go wrong...hello PineRidge, my name is Murphy.

Very sorry to hear about your luck, but I certainly know the feeling.

We were clearing a small area near the pumphouse and away from the burn piles and had two stumps two carry back up to the burn area. The excavator could only carry one so I told my friend (the operator) that I would just back his truck up and take the other one in the bed.

Did you know that sometimes old stumps crumble under the pressure of an excavator thumb? Did you know that F150 tailgates are not rated for 24" stumps? Did you know you could buy a painted to match tailgate for $400?

Everything was going well up to that point.

Hey Pine, with all of your previous projects that you've done on your tractor will you make some kind of "skid plate" to protect the new fuel tank? Hope so! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don't do a lot of work in the woods with the 40D and I'm afraid that a skid plate wouldn't have helped my unfortunate accident with the fuel tank. So no, this isn't going to be added to our project list.

Maybe we can get Doc_Bob to make one for the 40DA that he's planning on getting soon and see how he makes out with the project.
