Pop Up gooseneck hitch

Does anyone use the pop up style goose neck hitch PopUp Industries: Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Towing Products

It looks handy but I cannot figure out what would it keep it from coming out of the socket if you hit a big bump ?

It's either attached to the socket or the bottom of the ball is too big to come up and out of the ball assembly. You might want to look at some of the Installation Instructions for pictures.

The only thing I can figure is that it is too big to come out of the socket. It is not attached anywhere that I can see. Has anyone used one of these.

I have one in my dodge ram.. there is a lever you pull to pop it up.. tomy knowledge it is spring pin retained in the socket..
