I just got the finger treatment in the ER a couple days ago. But it was by a younger female, so i didnt mind.

I always have to do this... it's a compulsion and was instilled in me via my Mum, through her Mum. It's from the days of the first electric toasters that were 'always on' electric coils. They had flip-up sides which, once one side was toasted, the bread then had to be reversed to do the other side.
I know that the toaster is off when the lever is up. Heck, our electrical recepticals have individual on/off switches... yet, I still have to unplug the toaster when not in use.
