It was time for my physical a few years back and my male doctor was on vacation. The girl at the front desk said there was new female doctor who could see me instead. She asked if I minded, I said no, not a problem. She then mentioned that I had to have a prostrate exam and wondered if I minded. I said it is not me that you should asking that question to, it is the young female doctor, I am fine with it, she probably has smaller fingers anyway. :laughing:

I always have to do this... it's a compulsion and was instilled in me via my Mum, through her Mum. It's from the days of the first electric toasters that were 'always on' electric coils. They had flip-up sides which, once one side was toasted, the bread then had to be reversed to do the other side.
I know that the toaster is off when the lever is up. Heck, our electrical recepticals have individual on/off switches... yet, I still have to unplug the toaster when not in use.

Most consumer items are of dubious quality. I see no harm in leaving them unpowered if they don't need to be plugged in. Soon the toaster of the IOT will require 24/7 5G connection.

My wifes mom lived with us until she passed away. She had dementia, and one of the things she always did was unplug the toaster, I don't know how many times I would stick in the bread and push the lever down, and of course the bread stayed bread because the toaster was unplugged. Of course I asked her NOT to unplug my toaster, but of course that didn't make any difference to a person with dementia. I finally learned to always check the toaster and plug it back in and not to just throw in the bread and go on with fixing breakfast expecting the toaster to do its thing. She is gone now, and the toaster stays plugged in. Now I am on the Keto diet and I don't eat toast anymore :shocked:
