do you have threads saying that?
ive seen similar products recommended a number of times on TBN and never any mention about frequent reapplication. Although some may indicate it they reapply at the beginning of each "season" as part of there annual mmm startup.
yes i belive TSC sells a graphite type paint.

Theres lots of threads here on TBN re: POR and mower decks one example

Most of the reviews of graphite products ive read have been on Lawnsite. Those guys are really the experts on mowing and lawncare in general. Deck Undercoat is a matter of constant discussion over there. Alot of guys like frequent application of FluidFilm or even Pam. Some like graphite. Some like just plain old POR

I tried it a while back. Did not last long. There were spots that stayed on, but for the most part it wore off with about a half a dozen 1/2 acre properties mowed. In my opinion use Fluid Film. It makes the grass that does stick easier to remove. There is not a cure all for no grass sticking to your deck. Fluid Film will also keep your deck from rusting.

I've used that stuff under my Toro deck before and it was decent. I only bought one can of it and wasn't able to find it again so I didn't get to mess with it much. It worked better than nothing, but I wouldn't say it's all that great either.

That being said, I think some of the posters were stabbing at EZ Slide graphite paint but couldn't think of the name of it. Good thing though because I tried painting a deck I did in it... and it was a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. It only lasted long enough for me to figure out it didn't work and by then I was back down to bare metal.
I just used Prestone silicone spray instead for a long time.
It worked well with regular application.
But they don't make that stuff anymore.

I have tried EZ-Slide graphite based paint...that was a waste of money. mo-deck is expensive...probably better off just using Pam cooking spray (or the generic brand). I have used it and it works ok, but not great. Might last the early morning, as I guess that is when you need it to work the best.

I don't think anything will last very long on a mower deck. Slipplate (john deere) works well for about a month. you have to clean the deck perfect before you try any of these products. i found I spent just as much time cleaning, preping, and spraying the deck every 3-4 weeks as I did just quickly cleaning it off every few days before.
Recommending POR or POR topped with graphite:

I have used POR15 on my mower deck. I bead blasted my Toro 44" deck clean then POR15ed it. I believe it helped it last years longer. My mower was 15 years old when I sold it this year. If you are looking to presreve the deck from rust this is your product. If you are looking to make it slick so stuff doesn't stick maybe adding graphite paint is your ticket.
POR 15 was still on my mower deck 5 years after application when I sold it. My uncle painted his Model A with this product. He used the "non-uv resistant" variety so it would turn flat black. He did this about 6 years ago.
If you get some don't get it in the lip of the can. If you do, and close the lid with some in the lip, you will not get the lid off.
This stuff will not wear off.

I use POR-15 or Rust Bullet. They work great for me.
