Portable air tank

Hello to all,

Does anyone have a recommendation on a good portable air tank [5-10gal range].

Desired features

• American Made from reputable company
• comes w air hose 3ft+
• preferred quick connect hose
• heavy duty construction/corrosion resistant [at least for 10 yrs]

I recycled an old 20# propane tank, it was less than $20 to convert it, (fittings and air line)

Thanks guys. Do not have the time or tools to convert. New, can you pls tell me what model you have? Also, I updated my criteria that it be made in USA from a good company. Thank you

I have a 10 gallon one I bought from Sears about 30 years ago. It will put enough air into a pickup truck tire to get you to a service station and that's about it. I wouldn't even consider a 5 gallon one.

If I outlast mine, I would like to get a 20 gallon vertical tank on wheels because they take up less floor space.

Have you considered carrying an inflator instead? I have this one made by Milwaukee, but I believe dewalt and Makita have their own versions.

I just got this one, i think its amazing, i did throw away the hose and make my own because I use different fittings, it also has a drain, which almost none of them have, and its a decent price

Maybe not, but it's your best option, if you want American made...

To make one, all you need is some fittings from a hardware and some tools, they aren't rocket science to make.

I've had a harbor freight 10 gallon air tank for what seems like 25+ years. I have no idea where it was made, but it works just fine. I put a female quick connect onto it so I can just snap my air line onto it and let if fill without me having to hold a chuck on it. On the rare occasion I made need extra air volume out of my compressor, I'll hook that tank into the line as well. Gives me more capacity.
