Portable garage and snow load?

I have a Shelter Logic 16 x 24, round top portable garage. It has survived 6 Maine winters so far. It is starting to show a little wear where the fabric rubs on the poles. Using a boom on the bucket of my tractor, I picked the entire unit up at once and moved it about 300 yards to a different spot in my yard. Sure got a few funny looks from my neighbors as I took it down our dirt road. My only suggestion is to use the screw in the ground anchors, not the drive a cable into the ground anchors. The cable anchors are just not as secure, and don't hold the unit as firmly. I originally had the cable anchors and 1/3 of mine had rusted and broke in strong, 50 mph, winds last year.

Six Maine winters would seem to be a pretty solid endorsement! Appreciate the input.

They are not maintenance free. One needs to go out during every major storm and shake the snow off. You can use a broom from the inside. If you don't leave snow accumulations on it, and anchor it down severely (I cut 8 ft T posts in half and drove one in at the base of each "rib" then tied the structure down to it.) Mine has survived 2 winters and wind over 50mph, I have no idea what the gusts were. By comparison, every one I have seen where the supplied ground anchors were used to secure it or where snow was allowed to build was destroyed. Having one of these structures collapse onto your car can be a very expensive lesson. Having one tumble across your yard to smash into the neighbors picture windows can be equally bad. They are not ideal, but a lot better than nothing, provided you do your part on the upkeep.
