Since I finally pulled the trigger last month and got the tractor, figured it was time to plan some implements.

Here is what I have so far, need to review my steel quotes and price this out properly (as well as finish the detailing!).

-60"
-~250lbs (missing cylinder, pins and some gussets)
-33" (at least) opening

Finished detailing it out and have it setup for the laser cutting sometime in the next few weeks:

Good looking design, so is the plan to buy sheet steel and have it laser cut to your specs then you complete the fab and welding?

Would be curious as to why design/build when there are commercially units already built?

What's your rough estimate of cost vs buying off the shelf?

I can easily get steel and have a few options for laser or plasma CNC cutting.

The available designs are either $2,000 for the lighter, skeletonized versions or $1,000 for the heavier (also with larger "finger" spacing).

I think (need to fine tune costing) I'll be in this for less then $800.

Just a few thoughts / design considerations and I don't know your usage case, but land clearing here in New England with our rocks/stumps/debris always presents challenges separating the rocks roots and debris from the dirt.

For example, if say 2" behind the front tines, you put a 3/4" x 3" x width steel edge like the FEL bucket then a rock grate (welded bars) on the bottom this could be a combo grapple and rock bucket. Yes it would increase the weight but versatility too.

Pcustoms, nice looking plan.

What thickness steel are you using for your tines? Also, what kind of steel?

Whether it saves money or not there is always satisfaction in making something yourself.
