That looks like a pretty sweet set-up. I want something towable behind my truck too. I've been looking for a used 5000# single axle dump trailer forever. Seems like if they're used, they're used up, and still 2-3k$. New is around 4-5k.

Don’t want to derail, but check rental yards, bought a 5’x8’ single axle a few years ago for $1350, used. New fenders and brakes and it was gtg. Sold it a few years later for $1850.

With the correct valve, you only need one line to provide pressure to the lift cylinder.

True, most modern tractors are purchased with dual action valves. Extra hose usually cheaper than replacing valve.

Assuming it's a double action cylinder, you could. Not sure what type is on it, as they usually put on the cheapest part they can.

Opposite end of cylinder needs to breath and have a filtered plug that can be removed and replaced by hose - worst case cylinder or valve about same cost

Agree, dump trailers are nice. I purchased one this year. My son went with me, and said something along the line of 'What do you want that for?'
He has used it more than me. I have hauled sand at about 1/4 the price of having it delivered. I have hauled gravel, still not cheap here. But can get what I need and put it where I want it. We clear up trees and brush and move to turn pile without having to unload it by hand. I have hauled construction scrap to the dump. I have also used mine to move the tractor with, 14K.

I believe arto98607 was just speaking of dump trailers in general. The trailer the OP posted a picture of is definitely very light duty and best suited behind a compact tractor. You could most certainly get away with putting it on the road here in SC because they don't care much. I once stopped to ask a police officer if it was okay for me to pull my car trailer without lights another 5 miles as it was getting dark and I knew I wouldn't get home in traffic before it was fully dark. He said "this is SC, most of the trailers in the state don't have lights."
