Hi All,

Will be getting a Shaver HD-8 post driver and am wondering if I could use Fit Rite Hydraulics Top & Tilt system (or equivalent) to level the post driver. Have seen rave reviews about using the Top & Tilt for moving/shaping dirt, but haven't found any mention of using it with a post driver. Is there anything about the post driver operation that would shorten the life of the Top & Tilt?

The Top & Tilt looks to be cheaper than the Shaver hydraulic leveling option, and a lot more versatile.

Thank you for your time

I wouldn't think that there would be a problem. What tractor are you going to use this on?

Hi Brian, - Was hoping you'd chime in.

The post driver will come with a LS5030C tractor attached for a small extra charge.

Because of the height of the driver it may be possible smack the top of the cab with the driver. If so, I'll have to approach posts from the downhill side so the driver will be angled away from the cab.

While the T&T has many happy users that apply mostly horizontal force with earth shaping tools, I'm concerned that the mostly vertical jarring from the post driver might be a different situation. Am hoping that someone has already done this will chime in also.

As the hydraulic tilt option for the Shaver is about $1000 and is dedicated to that one attachment, the T&T could prove to be popular with post driver owners.

Thank you for your time

Based on looking at the hydraulics in the operator's manual on page 42, I see no reason why Top & Tilt cylinders would not work. Doesn't look like they use anything special to me. We could use 3" cylinders instead of 2 1/2" if you feel that would be any better. Keep in mind that my units come with a limited lifetime warranty. ;)

Thanks for the prompt replies. Will call next week as I have a long list of questions regarding the best way to provide a 3rd remote to power the post driver.

Get the OEM 3rd rear remote with the tractor.

When I talked to the regional rep from LS I got the impression I couldn't order the tractor with a 3rd remote. Will check into getting a kit from LS.

I suppose that might be so, I know that on the 41s & 47s that they have 2 std and a 3rd is available. Other wise just go with a diverter valve and use that with the "TnT" set.
