Question is is he using the PB from an up stream valve or a work port from a remote valve bungeed open.
Essentially the same I think, except the possibility that the remote fed from PB, he may be feeding from, has gotten into its float position.

That can't happen for this reason.

If he is feeding the valve from the work port on the remote valve and he just happens to go into float, if the valve has PB, the fluid will pass to the PB. If float mode, the work ports and the tank are connected together.

If you have a two spool valve and one of the spools is in float, the other spool will still work.

With one of the levers in float and one in neutral, fluid is flowing through the valve and going downstream via the PB port.

A remote is a single spool valve and I dont think has PB. ... Anyway, if in float there is only very lo pressure incidental to flow at the ports going onward to the single spool pounder valve that may be plugged into it in his configuration. There could be enuf pressure to keep the pounder charged with fluid as he operates its valve and augments the rise manually. Downstroke would then be normal/forced by gravity. ... repeat.

I am not understanding you.

Float and PB are independent. The float work port fluid is tied to tank fluid only, and PB is PB, and is going to flow to the next valve in an open center hyd circuit with full potential.

He has to be using PB if using a logical series flow path.

He could be using work port fluid if not in float from a preceding valve.
