I know my Land Pride will work on a BX. You just set it up too. There are several holes to set the boom in

Timber, what model number Land Pride did you purchase?

AceDuece (and others),

One of the things I did when I bought my PHD shear pins was spray paint the heads YELLOW. Don't want me or anyone to install a Grade 5 or higher bolts. Easy to spot with the painted heads.

I have a full sized PHD that fits my BX2200. You need the 3ph lift arms at about mid-height and spread full width to get the u-bar on, but it does go on. I have a 42 inch auger on it and there's 6 inches of clearance between the bit and the ground when 3ph is at full height. My PHD and auger are both made by Greene and sold through N. H. Northern Tool and Supply. Mine was $389, 6 in auger was $79, 14 in auger was $119. Here's their cheapest available now:

Note: The older BX models all have a "Limited Cat. 1" 3ph and the fit of some implements is rather tight. The BX24 (I don't know about other newer models) has a "Full Cat. 1" 3ph.

This is a Rankin (Shaver)601 with a 48" long 9" auger. I can lift it about 4 inches off the ground. I also got a 12" auger in 42" length so I would have better ground clearance.

That looks fantastic. The Rankin 600 series is rated fro tractors from 25-65HP and for heavy duty use. You have no trouble running that? I want to fence my 5 acres in post & beam and then line the inside with Russian Poplar trees so I assume I have about 400 holes to dig. Also need to expand the deck and as it get -30 here, I need to go deep below frost line. 48" woukd be perfect. I would need the downforce kit as I am all clay...over 80%. Does that monster ever strain your tractor in wet or heavy soil at depth?

I have adobe clay on my property. The PHD will not dig when the ground is dry and hard. You have to wet the soil and allow the water to settle a few days. I have to let it get to the right consistency: too wet and it's like oatmeal mush. It needs to be mildly damp all the way down. At anywhere from 10 inches to 4 feet down I have a type of silica cemented hardpan called durapan: almost the hardness of concrete and totally water impermeable. To dig in the durapan, or in the adobe clay when dry, I'd need downpressure kit and a Pengo carbide bit tip on the auger. Land Pride sells a PHD sized for subCUTs with downpressure kit and a 30 inch Pengo carbide tipped auger. I think you can get the same auger in 36 or 42 in. for more. The whole rig is about $2k.

On the Land Pride not only do you have the pin settings on the Boom but the 3 point arms can go on the inside of the bridge as well as the outside. That way you don't have to be concerned if the arms will spread far enough apart

That is a huge advantage. The pins on my unit are welded on from the outside. Being able to couple to implements from the inside is a significant factor on a limited Cat. 1 hitch.

I'm glad I got my 2200 when I did, June 2001, and started from the beginning using Cat 1 implements because I hadn't read on here at that time that Cat 1 won't work on the BX Kubotas, otherwise I might have spent more money and bought more tractor than I need just to get one to be able to use implements that I could buy used and share with my brother and not have to buy duplicates.
