You are doing this so you can save on the cost of a hydraulic?:confused3: You are going to have to do some serious engineering to get this to work without problems. This is not to say that it can not be done, but why bother? Before it's all said and done, you may very well end up spending $10 to save a buck. Buy the HDP kit, drill some holes and be happy. Good luck with your endeavor.
It is best to get a complete down pressure kit from the manufacturer of whatever brand of PHD it is that you have. If you are going to build something yourself, let me know what size hydraulic you want and I can get you a cost. Best to fill out the contact page on the Fit Rite website.
Keep in mind that you have a single acting hydraulic cylinder on the PHD. So the line to the cylinder is a pressure line and is connected to your rear remote. The line from the bypass valve is just a return line and that line needs to go directly to the reservoir. You may need to plumb in a return only port at the back of your tractor.
