I ended up ordering a stand from landpride. They sell one for about $150. I figure (hope?) it should work great and it'll take me a lot less time and not much more money than building something from scratch. Time I can spend digging holes before winter comes. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thought about hanging it, but they place I got to store it is a quonset so there isn't any good way to hang anything in there.

I was just doing a Google search and happened upon this site.. seems like a good idea, but the price might scare some people away........

This is the cradle and the plate that attaches to it. The plate stays on the PHD all the time. You need to take off the auger and guard to put it on the first time.

Overall I would say it works pretty good and is plenty stable. It also takes up very little space when not in use. You could just lean it on a wall.

Hi Zuiko,

Is there anything that holds the 3 pt arms onto the stand? Mine is way squirrely hanging from a tree; I'd be a little concerned it might twist somehow and fall off if there are not some positive hold downs.

Or maybe it is more sturdy than I imagine.

Thanks for posting the pics.

The draft arms are held by brackets on each side (2nd picture). The plate on the gearbox is screwed to the cradle with those large knurled knobs. It seems like a pretty sturdy configuration.
